Animus Pets (“ANIMUS”, “we”, “us”) makes an AI wellness companion for dogs and cats. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legalese.
The short version. We collect the account details and pet information you give us, plus the check-ins you write and any photos you add, so that ANIMUS can give you guidance about your pet. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with pet-food or product brands. You can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing support@animuspets.com.
Information we collect
- Account information. The email address you use to sign up, and an encrypted version of your password. We never see your password in readable form.
- Pet profiles. Anything you choose to add about your animal — name, species, breed, birthday, weight, known conditions, medications and allergies.
- Check-ins and content you submit. The symptom descriptions, questions, meal and weight logs, and any photos you upload.
- Technical information. Standard information your browser or device sends when you use the site or app, such as IP address, device and browser type, and pages viewed. This is used for security and to understand how the product is used.
- Contact messages. If you email us or use the contact form, we keep your message and your reply address so we can respond.
How we use it
- To create your account and keep you signed in.
- To generate the guidance, timelines, care checklists and nutrition plans that ANIMUS produces for your pet.
- To keep a history of your pet’s check-ins so ANIMUS can spot patterns over time.
- To answer your questions and provide support.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
- To improve the product — for example by looking at aggregate, non-identifying usage patterns.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with pet-food, pharmaceutical or product brands. We do rely on a small number of service providers to run ANIMUS, and information is shared with them only so they can perform that service for us:
- Hosting and database providers, which store your account, pet profiles and check-in history.
- An AI model provider, which processes the text and any photos you submit in order to generate guidance. Your submissions are sent for processing at the moment you ask for guidance.
- An email delivery provider, used for things like password resets and replies to your messages.
- Analytics and security tooling on our website.
We may also disclose information if we are legally required to do so, or where it is necessary to protect the safety, rights or property of a person, an animal, or Animus Pets.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies. Some are strictly necessary for the site to work; others help us understand how the site is used. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies using the consent banner shown on your first visit, and you can change your mind at any time by clearing your cookies and revisiting the site.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and your pet’s health history for as long as your account is active, because that history is what makes ANIMUS useful over time. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your personal information and your pet records, except where we are required to keep something for legal or security reasons.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. You can exercise any of these rights — or simply ask us a question about your data — by emailing support@animuspets.com. We will not charge you for it, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
Security
Accounts are private to the person who created them, access to your data is restricted to your own signed-in account, and information is transmitted over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and design for it.
Children
ANIMUS is intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.
International users
ANIMUS is operated from the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, your information will be processed in the United States and in the locations where our service providers operate.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and where the change is significant we will let you know in the app or by email.
A reminder about veterinary care
ANIMUS provides educational guidance, not veterinary diagnosis, and is not a substitute for professional veterinary care. If you believe your pet is having an emergency, contact your nearest veterinarian immediately.
